Sub-Series 2.3. Notes, artwork, and other material, 1971-1997, undated
Sub-Series Scope and Contents
This sub-series contains notes, correspondence, clippings, outlines, realia, and other material regarding the development and/or publication of Robert L. Forward's science-fiction stories and non-fiction writings. Materials provide contextual information about plot and other story elements, as well as insight into the hard science concepts developed chiefly for Forward's fiction. Many documents contained in this series are heavily copyedited and occasionally autographed. All copyedits and autographs were made by Dr. Forward unless otherwise noted. Bylines are provided exclusively for co-authored works, works by other authors, and works citing more than one creative role.
Because many folders maintain the original filing scheme of the creator, select records outside the scope of this sub-series are included.

Sub-Series Note on <emph render="italic">Timemaster</emph>
While the bulk of the notes pertaining to Timemaster are explicitly identified as such by Dr. Forward, a small selection of novel-related notes were interfiled with research notes taken by Forward early in his career at Hughes. It is unclear whether or not Forward's notes from the 1960s directly influenced the later concepts used in the book.
Please consult "Sub-Series 5.10. Research notes and other material" for the interfiled story notes.
