This sub-series contains the papers of Robert L. Forward that were selected for binding in book form by Dr. Forward. The papers are primarily composed of scientific articles, reports, and texts that were published in professional journals, presented at conferences, or prepared for projects at Hughes Research Laboratories. The bulk of the papers have indices listing the individual works featured in the respective volume, as well as the date of publication or authorship. Both single-authored and co-authored works are included. All volumes are bound with the exception of "Papers 1986," which was selected for binding by Dr. Forward but never completed.

Because the records are in original order, select volumes contain materials outside the scope of this sub-series. These are mainly literary works, including copyedited manuscripts and photocopies of published pieces, and copies of Forward's U.S. patents.
