This sub-series contains technical reports, proposals, studies, drafts, and other research-related material selected for binding in book form by Dr. Forward. The contents of each volume chiefly pertain to a common project or research initiative, which Dr. Forward identifies on the volumes' title pages. While the format of these identifications varies, they often include a brief description or summary, date range, or alphanumeric notation for the project. For those select volumes lacking a title proper, descriptive information is taken from other parts of the item.

Dr. Forward served as the Principal Investigator or Manager for the majority of these endeavors, which were projects contracted by Hughes Research Laboratories.
