Sub-Series Scope and Contents
This sub-series consists of materials related to Norton Air Force Base, a military facility located in San Bernardino from 1942-1994, which closed as a result of a Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission recommendation in 1988. Files in the sub-series include correspondence, memorandums, reports, articles, congressional hearing testimony, and notes that document services and military units at the base, the effects of defense reinvestment activities at Norton, and base reuse plans and proposed developments for the area.
