This sub-series consists of files related to Norton Air Force Base, a military facility located in San Bernardino from 1942-1994, which closed as a result of a Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission recommendation in 1988. Files in the sub-series include correspondence, memorandums, meeting notes, articles, background research, and reports documenting the effects of defense reinvestment activities at Norton, environmental concerns, base reuse plans and proposed developments for the area.
