Collection Scope and Contents
This collection contains correspondence, documents and other material from Eloise Emerson, an accomplished nurse who worked in Southern California. The majority of materials in the collection focus on her nursing career, as well as her lobbying effort against California State mandatory retirement of age 70. Items related to her career include a variety of papers and personal notes by Emerson on nursing procedures and tips, mainly centered around hearing impairments, child abuse and child birth. The collection also contains materials on the 1933 Long Beach earthquake, and newspaper clippings on Easter Passover.
