This collection contains the negatives of Charles W. McLaughlin’s photographic work documenting the Inland Empire of Southern California (San Bernardino and Riverside counties). Spanning from circa 1850 to 1984 it shows the development of the region from its agrigultural and pastoral origins. A newspaper article written on the death of Charles McLaughlin is also included. Charles McLaughlin took much of his pictures within the San Bernardino Mountains at smaller trails and lakes. The collection also contains folders of wildlife areas and landmarks outside of the Inland Empire such as Yosemite, the Grand Canyon, and Bryce Canyon National Park, etc.
