El Rayo de Satanas ó Por el Amor de una Hija
Collection Scope and Contents
The collection consists of reproductions of the Biblioteca del Niño Mexicano, which was a set of 110 small booklets illustrated by Mexican artist Jose Guadalupe Posada. The booklets, written by Heriberto Frias, tell the history of Mexico through short stories and fables, and were originally published between 1899 and 1901. This set of facsimiles, which was published in 2013 to honor the 100th anniversary of the death of Posada, also includes a decorative box for the booklets, and an additional booklet written by Helia Emma Bonilla Ryna and Marie Lecouvey that discusses the history and significance of the Biblioteca del Niño Mexicano.
