This collection consists of photographs and photo postcards from John W. Dady, depicting various Native American tribes and ranches in the Midwest and California during the early 20th century, including the Cheyenne, the Mission Indians and the Red Cliff tribe. The collection also includes family photographs, and correspondence to Dady written on the back of some of the photo postcards.

Biographical Note

John W. Dady was a U.S. government employee who served as the Superintendent of the Mission Indian Agency during the early 20th century. The Mission Indian Agency was the office of the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs responsible for providing government services and programs to Native Americans tribes in Southern California.
