Biographical Note
Carol Carr (1938-2021) grew up in New York, where she became interested in science fiction fandom in the 1960s. Her maiden name was Carol Newmark and she was married three times: Jack Stuart, Terry Carr (from 1961 until his death in 1987), and Robert Lichtman (from 2000 until her death in 2021). She and Terry Carr moved to Berkeley, CA in the early 1970s.
Carol was a prominent member of science fiction fandom in the second half of the twentieth century, with many close relationships with authors, editors, and other fans and a frequent attendee of conventions. She was a regular contributor to fanzines, a published author of several short stories, and a book of her collected writings was publsihed in 2014.
