Collection Scope and Contents
The Gurthalee Clark collection on African American women in the United States military is contained within the Tuskegee Airmen Archive. This archive consists of material related to those individuals who served at Tuskegee Army Air Field, and its predecessors, as well as material pertaining to Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., a non-profit organization.
This collection contains photographs, articles, newspaper clippings, correspondence, documents, and other material on African American women in the United States military as collected by Gurthalee Clark, former member of the Women’s Army Corps. Mostly contains records and other information on African American women in the Army, Navy, and various other branches of the military.
