Collection Scope and Contents
The Tuskegee Airmen collection is contained within the Tuskegee Airmen Archive. This archive consists of material related to those individuals who served at Tuskegee Army Air Field, and its predecessors, as well as material pertaining to Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., a non-profit organization.
This collection contains documents, photographs, and other material regarding the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African American pilots who served in World War II as part of the Unites States Army Air Corps. Includes certificates, pamphlets, press clippings, artwork, photographs, and videocassettes related to those individuals who served in units at Tuskegee Army Air Field and those associated with the 99th Fighter Squadron, 332nd Fighter Group, and 477th Bombardment Group. Additional material pertaining to Tuskegee Airmen, Inc., a non-profit organization, are included.
