Sub-Series Scope and Contents

From the Sub-Series:

This sub-series contains black-and-white photographs of Citrus Experiment Station (CES) buildings, faculty, staff, equipment, orchards, and crops. Images primarily show exterior, interior, and aerial views of the CES main building, entomology laboratory, barns, and other CES facilities, including the original CES laboratory at Mt. Rubidoux. Images originally housed in Kodak nitrate negative albums created or collected by E.R. Parker depict avocado, walnut, and citrus crops with injuries, deficiencies, and diseases. Images created or collected by E.E. Thomas show barley, cowpea, and alfalfa fields and other crops. Other images depict experiments conducted in CES orchards and fields and Riverside landmarks, including the parent Washington navel orange tree. Staff and faculty portraits are also included. A CD-ROM containing digital images originally taken by James Theophilus Barrett depict the CES garden, the house of Louis Rubidoux, and other Riverside landmarks.
