Correspondence, ephemera, and notes regarding Sylvia M. Broadbent's lecture in conjunction with the exhibition Shamans, Gods Mythic Beasts: Colombian Gold and Ceramics in Antiquity at The Bowers Museum of Cultural Art, 1999, undated.
Series Scope and Contents
This series contains correspondence, notes, documents, and other material regarding Sylvia M. Broadbent's membership in professional associations and activities and projects undertaken within the academic community. Topics documented here are professional in nature, but primarily fall outside the immediate scope of her administrative responsibilities as a university professor. These include editorial commitments, application for grant funding, presentations, conference attendance, and other subjects. Broadbent was affiliated with a broad spectrum of professional organizations, reflecting her academic interests in anthropology, archaeology, and linguistics. These include the Society for California Archaeology, the Society for American Archaeology, the American Anthropological Association, the Society for Historical Archaeology, the California Map Society, and others.
Because many folders maintain the original filing scheme of the creator, select records outside the scope of this series are included.
