This series contains correspondence, appointment books, ephemera, and other material created or collected by Sylvia M. Broadbent that is unrelated to her professional life as a scholar and professor. Records document recreational and other personal activities, including travel in the U.S. and abroad. While select correspondence is between Broadbent and fellow anthropologists, this documentation is largely of a personal and informal nature.

For records pertaining to Broadbent's participation in clubs and other formal organizations, as well as her role as an activist, please consult Series 4.
