This sub-series is a collection of facsimiles of the correspondence of James Theodore Talbot. Talbot joined the US Army and was a member of the John Fremont expedition to the American West. His journies took him throughout Mexico and the American Frontier from Vera Cruz to Oregon. Hine edited a book on Talbot's correspondence.
