This sub-series contains information related to Hiprotect, a security system described as "a remote human intrusion detection/response system for the protection of cultural and natural resources." This system was developed in the early 1990s by the Preservation Science and Technology Unit at UCR and the Appplied Technology Program at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in collaboration with the National Coalition for Applied Preservation Technology and University Consortium for Preservation Science and Technology.
