The collection consists of publications produced by Sostenibilidad Maya, a three year project undertaken by UC Riverside and funded by a grant from the MacArthur foundation. The goal of the project was to support local organizations and scientists in the Maya region in Mexico with sustainable development and natural resource management. Items in the collection include reports, bibliographies, plant catalogs, and informational pamphlets for producers.
