Collection Scope and Contents

The collection consists of materials related to the development and evolution of the Western Riverside County Multiple Species Habitat Conservation Plan (WRC MSHCP), which was created to resolve conflicts between private housing developments and local species protected under the federal Endangered Species Act. Scott, a professor in the Earth & Planetary Sciences Department in the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences, compiled the documents in the collection as part of his role serving as the Science Advisor for the plan. Materials in the collection include meeting notes, correspondence, reports, other habitat and multi-species plans, and local environmental impact reports and statements.

Biographical Note

Thomas A. Scott is an Adjunct Asst. Professor/Natural Resource Specialist in the Earth and Planetary Sciences Department at the College of Natural & Agricultural Sciences at the University of California, Riverside. His research areas are in Conservation Biology and Biogeography.
