The collection contains materials related to Irwin E. Farrar, a former 30 year member of the board of directors of the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, and founding member of the Eastern Municipal Water District and Riverside County Flood Control District. Items in the collection consist mainly of articles written about Farrar, most notably concerning his retirement from the Metropolitan Water District. Also included is a published transcript of an oral history interview of Farrar produced by the University of California, entitled "Riverside County Water Pioneer," inscribed by Farrar to his sister and brother-in-law Ethel and Harry Bell.
