Abstract

This collection consists of records created by the Kappa Theta chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., which was the first Greek-lettered sorority established by African-American college women. The Kappa Theta chapter was chartered on the University of California, Riverside’s campus on March 27th, 1976. Materials in the collection include a copy of the charter establishing the chapter, and a photograph album of sorority events occurring in 2014.

The collection consists of items related to El Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad de California, Riverside (UCR), which was a student group founded in 1988 dedicated to preserving and promoting Mexican culture at UCR and in the local community through the art of traditional folklórico dance.
