Series Scope and Contents

This series encompasses letters written between members of the Pugh family. The bulk of the material was composed during the years of the United States Civil War, 1861-1864. Some additional dates both before and after the war are also contained within this series. Pertinent content includes descriptions of military life and experience throughout the conflict as seen by Isaac and Rinaldo Pugh, as well as life on the home front, which is relayed through the letters of Elvira E. Pugh. Microfilm copies of the correspondence are available in positive and master negative forms.
