Photographs, certificates, and other material pertaining to St. Clair’s personal and family life are also included.

Biographical Note

Margaret St. Clair was born on February 17, 1911 in Kansas. Her fascination with science fiction writings began at a young age and in 1928 her family relocated to California, where she attended UC Berkeley to study classical writing. Shortly after her graduation in 1932 she married fellow writer Eric (Raymond) St. Clair. In 1945, St. Clair finished her first short story “Rocket to Limbo” which was later published in 1946. Over the course of her career St. Clair wrote and published over 100 short stories, some under the name Wilton Hazzard or Idris Seabright, and also published several novels. St. Clair passed away in 1995 in Santa Rosa, California.

Photographs, certificates, and other material pertaining to St. Clair’s personal and family life are also included.
