Abstract The collection consists of correspondence and other materials related to the American author Tom Wolfe, specifically surrounding his involvement with the publication of Carobeth Laird's 1975 book Encounter with an Angry God. Wolfe, who was introduced to the novel by Laird's editor Anne Jennings, took an active role in helping to promote the book, including writing a glowing review of the book for Harper's Bookletter.
